Pogust Goodhead shortlisted for The Lawyer European Awards 2022

We are delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted for the prestigious Lawyer European Awards 2022.

We have been shortlisted in two categories: Global Firm of the Year in Europe and Most Innovative Technology Initiative.

Our Global Firm of the Year in Europe nomination has been presented in recognition of the many successes Pogust Goodhead has had across our cases this year.

Our triumphs this year span a plethora of litigations around the world and include landmark victories as well as precedent setting rulings.

Here are three highlights:

• In July 2022, over 200,000 Brazilian claimants were given the go-ahead to pursue litigation in the courts of England and Wales over the Mariana dam collapse, the worst environmental disaster ever in Brazil.

• In May 2022, we helped reach a £193M UK settlement with VW as part of our My Diesel Claim initiative, which now has over a million UK drivers signed up.

• In September 2022 in The Netherlands, Pogust Goodhead represented over 10,000 victims of Brazil’s ‘sinking city’ and secured a verdict allowing them to proceed with the claim against petrochemical company Braskem.

Our nomination for the Most Innovative Technology Initiative comes from the work that our CTO, Rich Hill, and his team have done in leading Pogust Goodhead’s digital transformation.

Rich and his team have helped us successfully introduce ground-breaking technology into our business, making it easier to handle a large number of clients.

This technology has resulted in far more efficient processes, allowing the firm to be more agile and meet client needs more flexibly.

We are so proud of the ground-breaking work all our staff are undertaking, and we are excited to continue our journey.

Congratulations to all the shortlisted firms! See the full list here.
