The Lawyer Awards

We are delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted for the prestigious Lawyer awards.

We are shortlisted in two categories – Boutique Firm of the Year and Most Innovative Use of Technology.

We are shortlisted for the Most Innovative Use of Technology in relation to the work of CTO Rich Hill and his team who have led PGMBM’s digital transformation, helping us to successfully introduce ground-breaking technology into our business, making it easier to handle large number of clients. This technology has resulted in far more efficient processes, allowing the firm to be more agile and meet client needs more flexibly.

We are shortlisted for Boutique Firm of the Year in recognition of the success PGMBM has had across a number of significant cases.

Within our four-year history, PGMBM has achieved a number of landmark victories and precedent setting rulings.

• In 2021, we resolved the largest group-action personal-data claim in UK history against British Airways within only 24 months.

• Shortly after, PGMBM, acting for more than 1,500 Brazilian orange growers, secured a High Court judgment forcing multi-billionaire Brazilian orange juice magnate, José Luis Cutrale, and his son to face trial in London.

• Also in our favour, the Court of Appeal handed down a monumental judgment to reopen our claim on behalf of 200,000 Brazilian clients against Anglo-Australian mining giant BHP, who were involved in a dam rupture that caused Brazil’s worst environmental disaster. We are currently awaiting the verdict from our court hearing last month.

We are so proud of the ground-breaking work all our staff are undertaking and we are excited to continue our journey. Special thanks to Leila-Zoe Mezoughi for all her work on the nomination.

Congratulations to all the shortlisted firms!
