Romona is passionate about ethics, business and the law and how corporate social responsibility intertwines. Her experience of litigation thus far has been centred primarily on large scale international environmental cases, including those which have shaped the “corporate responsibility of an international subsidiary” landscape, including Vedanta Resources Limited v Lungowe; Bodo Community, Shell Litigation and Municipao de Mariana v BHP. Romona has also managed the VW NOx Emissions Litigation day-to-day which led to a settlement of £193 million in 2022.
Romona has broad litigation experience across multiple practice areas including environment; employment; consumer; competition; business; human rights; EU and international laws. Romona has an unrelenting drive to deliver access to justice particularly to those who would not otherwise be able to access it. She is proud to have worked on (and helped many clients affected by) the Infected Blood Public Inquiry.
Prior to qualifying in law Romona worked in and excelled at, new business development, working with organisations in the CSR sector. She knew that her work at that time, was just the “tip of the iceberg” and she wanted to do more, so she returned to the law in 2010 to qualify. She was Called to the Bar in England and Wales in 2013, and cross-qualified as a solicitor in 2019. She currently practises as a solicitor; predominantly as a civil litigator and has been involved in many high-profile case primarily representing individual clients.
Romona loves to incorporate travel into her legal work.
