As Partner, and with over five years working at Pogust Goodhead, Felipe Hotta manages the LATAM department of the firm in Brazil, providing management and leadership to the team and supporting business operation and strategy.
Over the past year, he has been restructuring the Latam arm by setting up proper structures for the fast growth of the business in the Latin America.
Felipe started his career as a litigator with Pogust Goodhead right after he qualified in 2018. He has been deeply involved with mass tort claims brought against transnational companies who has been destroying the environment and breaching human rights, such as Municipio de Mariana and others vs BHP and Municipio de Brumadinho and others vs Tuv Sud.
Recently, Felipe settled a mass environmental disaster case on behalf of the indigenous family member of the Katurama Village against Vale S.A., due to the Brumadinho dam disaster. Felipe structured a multimillion-dollar agreement to compensate the families and rebuild the village.
